General

I would like to start by thanking everyone involved with the organisation of both the show and our stay. We were made welcome by everyone we visited and have made many friends who we would be happy to accommodate should they arrive in England.

Our special thanks go to Simone, not only did she drive us all over the country, she kept us entertained with her vast geographical knowledge!

The show was a credit to the hard work of the committee and the dogs were of a good standard. You have an excellent basis on which to improve the breed and am sure that your dedication and time will ensure an excellent future for the Bullmastiff in New Zealand.

MINOR PUPPY DOG
1ST BLAZON IMPERIAL DRAGON
Good sized, well-boned puppy. Good pigmentation and ear carriage. Would prefer stronger head but still has time to develop.

PUPPY DOG
1ST - KUGEL R M WILLIAMS
Well up to size. Broad skull with good pigmentation and dark eye. Would prefer slightly less muzzle and shorter back. A little overawed in the ring at present.

2ND - RANGATIRA CAPT JACK
Shorter dog with good pigment. Very well handled. At present, top line is uneven and movement is loose.

3RD - RANGATIRA NELSON

JUNIOR DOG
1ST - NASCADE IN COMMAND
Eye catching fawn. Strong head with pronounced stop, short muzzle and dark eye. Tall well proportioned body with good angulation. Chest still needs to broaden and drop. Has a promising future when mature.

2ND - CH BLAZON CREATIN HAVOC
More compact dog that 1but slightly plainer in head. Good top line, well muscled. Moved well.

3RD - BROOKPARK BLACKJACK

INTERMEDIATE DOG
1ST - CH RANGATIRA DEFENDER
Broad brindle with good straight front and well-angulated rear. Well-proportioned head with correct pigmentation. Eyes set wide apart. Moved okay but would have preferred more drive. A nice dog overall, would have liked more length of leg.

2ND - BULWAREN THE BOY FROM OZ (IMP AUST)
Good clear colour with good top line and reasonable movement. Not strong enough in head and lacking stop.

3RD KANGALA WILLY WONKA (IMP AUST)

NEW ZEALAND BRED DOG
1ST CH KUGEL BARB'ERIC ROBT E LEE
Broad head and skull with nice expression, dark eye and good dentition. Well-arched neck, level top line, well angulated hindquarters. Moved well. Not quite the substance of best dog. Reserve challenge.

2nd CH OAKCROFT GOOD OMEN
Broad skull though muzzle tapered off. Short backed, straight front. Moved okay.

3RD CH BROOKPARK PLAYBOY

1ST CH KUGEL MADE IN THE USA
Big strong-headed male. Deep colour with excellent pigmentation. Excellent bone and moved with real drive. Wide muscular hindquarters with well-defined second thigh. Good level top line. In an ideal world would prefer a slightly shorter back and a little less wrinkle. Overall a very imposing dog. Delighted to award him the challenge and Best in Show.

2ND VINCENT OF LIONSDEN
Slightly weak in head, Excellent mouth although lacking under jaw. Well put together body. Moved OK.

Short backed well-angulated puppy, moved out well when she wanted to. Short muzzle, mouth okay, ears high set.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH
1ST OLDWORLD SHADY LADY ELLE (IMP AUST)
Very classy light fawn. Pleasing expression with just enough pigment. Deep chest & strong hindquarters. Very well developed for age. Slightly rear high at present but very promising.

2ND BLAZON CELESTIAL DRAGON
Very pretty head with pleasing expression. Narrow in body at present with poor top line, moved okay.

3RD BLAZON DRAGONFIRE

PUPPY BITCH
1ST STONE MAIDEN OF GLAMIS
Broad skull but tapering off at muzzle. Well pigmented with dark eye. Wide straight front. Rear angulation ok. Level top line, moved ok.

2ND AZURTESIAN OF GLAMIS
Excellent head and expression. Broad skull with good ear set. Very straight in stifle which impaired movement.

JUNIOR BITCH
1ST CH NASCADE MAIDEN IMAGE
Well-sized bitch with pleasing expression and correct stop. Well set ears, dark eye short muzzle with broad under jaw. Broad body with excellent spring of rib. Would prefer deeper chest & shorter back. Moved well with good rear angulation. Res Bitch

2ND BLACKMASK AMANDA
Well proportioned head, slightly over wrinkled. Up to size body and legs but would prefer her broader throughout.

NEW ZEALAND BRED BITCH
1ST CH KUGEL KELLY BROWN
Broad skull, head and body. Very over wrinkled, giving masculine expression. Excellent bite and dentition. Strong hindquarters. Would have preferred her taller to give more balance.

2ND CH CASTLECLIFF MATRIARCH
Excellent moving bitch. Broad skull but lacks stop and width of muzzle. Good front with well set shoulder. Slightly long in back, top line not good. Well-muscled hindquarters.

OPEN BITCH
1ST CH KUGEL SAUCY SPICE
Strong head, superb mouth, dark eye and good pigmentation. A little more width of bottom jaw preferred. Well-balanced body with broad deep chest. Well-muscled shoulders & hindquarters. Moved with drive. Beautifully handled. Worthy best bitch.

2ND CH GRASSLOCK STELLA POLARIS (IMP AUST)
Tall feminine bitch. Pretty head and expression. Straight front with tight cat feet. Lacked depth of chest and would prefer broader throughout.
